The easiest RV dump stations in Tampa for a rental traveler are the TA Express truck stop on I-75 in Seffner and the campground dump stations at Hillsborough County's E.G. Simmons and Edward Medard conservation parks, Hillsborough River State Park and Fort De Soto. For propane, several Tampa U-Haul stores, the Tractor Supply on Big Bend Road in Riverview and the Flying J in Seffner list RV or bulk refills. Overnight parking is the tricky part: Tampa's code limits RVs and trailers on streets, so plan to sleep at a campground.
This guide is for renters who will drive or tow their own RV and need to empty tanks, top off propane and park without a ticket. Each location was checked on its own website in October 2026, but hours, fees and access change, so call ahead.
You can empty black and gray tanks at one public truck stop and at several campgrounds around Tampa Bay, and the campground stations are mainly meant for people camping there.

None of the park pages say whether non-campers may use the dump station, so call the park office first if you are not booked there.
Several Tampa U-Haul stores state on their own pages that they fill "RVs, campers" and portable tanks from 3 to 100 pounds.
The U-Haul pages do not say whether every attendant will fill a motorhome's built-in tank, so call before driving over with a Class C or Class A.
Usually not for long. Inside Tampa city limits, Chapter 15 of the City Code bans parking any vehicle 86 inches or more in overall width (mirrors excluded) on streets, alleys or city property next to residentially zoned land, except to load or unload. Sec. 15-47 lets the city issue a written warning, then a ticket 12 hours later, and the vehicle can be immobilized or impounded if it is not moved within two hours of the ticket.

Detached trailers face a stricter rule. Sec. 15-67 makes it unlawful to park a detached trailer on any street, alley or city property except for loading and unloading or in a designated space, and Sec. 15-125 allows those violations to be impounded immediately. In city lots, garages and metered streets, Sec. 15-41 also bars leaving a vehicle more than 24 hours without arranging it with the Parking Division.
Parking at a private home is a separate question. Inside the city it falls under Tampa's zoning code, and in Riverview, Brandon, Gibsonton and other unincorporated communities it falls under Hillsborough County's Land Development Code. We could not confirm the current RV text of either from an official source, so check with the City of Tampa or Hillsborough County Code Enforcement, plus any HOA, before parking or sleeping in an RV at a friend's house.
A campground or RV park is the only overnight option we can recommend with confidence. For private parks, see our roundup of Tampa RV parks with full hookups, and the county and state parks above take reservations online. Pinellas County limits Fort De Soto to 14 nights in any 30-day period.

Other options are more limited than RV forums suggest:
Delivery is the simplest fix. Our team can bring the RV to your campsite, an event or your own driveway and set it up there, with drop-offs around St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Fort De Soto Park and Florida state parks. A delivered trailer sits on a hookup site, so you never tow it through traffic or hunt for overnight parking. Delivery fees and radius are not published; ask when you book.
It depends on how much driving and dumping you want to do. Trailer pricing on our RV rental prices page for 2026 starts near $60 nightly for the six-sleeper Timberline Retreat and tops out at $130 for the Gulf Coast Grand, which sleeps 12. Expect the final quote to shift with your travel dates and trip length, the time of year, mileage, any extras or delivery, and standard fees.
Compact options are on our camper rentals in Tampa page. We do not rent camper vans. For more first-timer basics, read what to know before you go.
Fees are not posted on the official pages we checked. The TA Express in Seffner lists an RV dump but no price, and the campground stations are mainly for registered campers, so call ahead and ask about the fee and access.
Yes. The TA Express travel center at 11706 Tampa Gateway Blvd in Seffner lists an RV dump among its amenities and says it is open 24 hours. Call ahead to confirm access and the fee.
No, not unhitched. Sec. 15-67 makes it unlawful to park a detached trailer on a city street, alley or city property except while loading or unloading or in a designated space, and violations may be impounded immediately.
No. FDOT says overnight camping is not permitted at Florida rest areas and visitors may stay up to three hours, so plan a campground stop instead.
Yes. The Gandy Blvd, Westchase, West Waters Ave and East Tampa U-Haul pages say they fill RVs and campers as well as 3 to 100 pound tanks. Call first if your motorhome has a built-in tank.
Ask us when you book. Our published pages do not state a return rule for black, gray or propane tanks, so confirm it with our team before pickup in Gibsonton so you can plan a dump stop on the way back.
Tell us your campground and dates and we will match you with a unit and explain delivery, tanks and propane before you arrive. You can contact our Manager and the Tampa RV Rentals Team, or View available RVs.
