How RV Delivery and Setup Works in Tampa

Travel trailer delivered and set up at a waterfront campsite at Fort De Soto Park

How RV rental delivery works in Tampa is simple: you reserve a campsite in your own name, we tow the RV to that site, set it up and walk you through it, then come back for it when your stay ends. You never need a truck, a hitch or towing experience; your job is booking the campsite and choosing an RV that fits its rules.

Delivery turns a travel trailer into a stationary RV rental, which is why it appeals to families who want a beach or state park base without learning to tow. Fort De Soto, Florida State Parks and private RV parks each publish their own limits on check-in times, occupancy and hookups, and those limits decide which RV makes sense.

What happens on delivery day, step by step?

Delivery follows a predictable order, and most of the work happens before you arrive.

Every trip also includes 24/7 Roadside Assistance, and the RV comes stocked with kitchen and cookware, folding chairs and linens.

Do I need a truck to rent a travel trailer in Tampa?

No, you do not need a truck if you choose delivery, because our team does the towing to and from your campsite. You arrive in your own car and the RV is already waiting.

If you would rather tow it yourself, trailers can also be picked up at our lot at 11711 Messler Rd, Gibsonton, just off I-75. We do not publish tow vehicle or hitch requirements, so ask our team before you plan to tow, and read our guide on what to know before you rent.

Will an RV rental company deliver to Fort De Soto?

Yes, Tampa RV Rentals delivers and sets up RVs at Fort De Soto Park, but you must reserve and register the campsite yourself under Pinellas County's rules. Those rules shape the whole trip:

Pinellas County lists sites 86 to 236 at $45.50 to $47.50 a night before tax, depending on whether the site is waterfront.

How do Florida State Parks and private RV parks handle a delivered RV?

Florida State Parks do not publish a separate policy for delivered RVs, so the standard camper rules apply to you as the reservation holder:

Private RV parks set their own rules. Before you book one, ask whether they allow rental RVs placed by a delivery company, whether they have RV age or type restrictions, and whether the site has sewer. Our list of Tampa RV parks with hookups is a good place to start.

What do RV hookups mean for a delivered rental?

Hookups are the campsite's utility connections, and they decide how much you have to think about water and waste during your stay. Here is what the terms on a campsite listing mean:

Fort De Soto and Florida State Parks list water and electric with a shared dump station rather than sewer at each site. On a longer stay, ask our team how tank emptying is handled for a delivered trailer.

Which of our RVs make sense for a delivered stay?

Towable units are the natural fit for delivery, because we do the towing and you never drive the RV. Our 2026 rates page shows the fifth wheel at $125 nightly and travel trailers ranging from $60 up to $130. Expect the final quote to move with your travel dates, how many nights you stay, the season, mileage, add-ons, fees and the delivery charge. See the full list on our RV rental prices page.

What should I confirm before I book delivery?

Confirm the unpublished details before you pay for a campsite. Our delivery areas include St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota, Lakeland, Wesley Chapel, Fort De Soto, Crystal River and Florida state parks, but the fee and radius depend on your location. Ask our team:

Frequently asked questions

Can I book a Fort De Soto campsite if I don't live in Pinellas County?

Yes. Anyone can reserve a Fort De Soto campsite up to six months in advance through the county's reservation system; Pinellas County residents simply get a seventh month and must verify residency at check-in.

How many people can stay in a delivered RV at Fort De Soto?

Six people, including children, is the limit per campsite at any time, no matter how many the RV sleeps. Florida State Parks allow up to eight per campsite, not counting children under 6.

What hookups do state park campsites near Tampa have?

Water and electricity, plus a shared dump station. Florida State Parks describe full-facility RV sites as having water and electricity, with a central dump station, and Hillsborough River State Park lists water at every site, electric at most and a dump station.

Can you deliver an RV to my home in the Tampa Bay area?

Yes. Tampa RV Rentals offers delivery and setup to homes as well as campgrounds and special events. Check your HOA and local rules for parking and using an RV on your property before you book.

How much does RV delivery cost in Tampa?

The delivery fee is not published because it depends on how far the campground or address is from our Gibsonton lot. Share your location and dates with our team for an exact quote before you book.
